1. Who can use Manaaki
You need to be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent where you live if that's higher. If you use Manaaki for someone else, such as a family member, you confirm you're allowed to.
2. Your account
- Give us accurate details and keep them up to date.
- Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
- Tell us straight away if you think someone else has got into it.
3. What Manaaki is, and isn't
Manaaki is a tool for planning visits between people who already know each other. It is not a booking agency, rental marketplace, or payment service. We don't own, inspect, or manage any place listed, and we're not a party to any arrangement between a host and a guest.
Hosts decide who visits and when, and can confirm, decline, or cancel visits. Guests decide whether to go. Everyone is responsible for their own conduct, safety, and any agreement they make with each other.
4. Hosts
- Only list places you have the right to invite people to.
- Keep your open dates and details reasonably accurate.
- Anyone with your invite link can see your open dates and the details you choose to show. You can make a new link at any time, and the old one stops working.
- You're responsible for following any laws, rules, or agreements that apply to your place.
5. Your content
Photos, names, notes, and other things you add stay yours. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, resize, and show them, only so we can run Manaaki for you and the people you share with. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep by law or that remain briefly in backups.
Only upload content you have the right to share, and don't post anything about other people that they wouldn't be comfortable with.
6. Things you can't do
- Break the law, or help anyone else do so.
- Harass, threaten, or deceive anyone, or impersonate someone.
- Post content that is unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit, or infringes someone else's rights.
- Use Manaaki to run a commercial rental business or to send spam.
- Try to get around security, access accounts or data that aren't yours, overload the service, or scrape it.
7. Our service
We're always improving Manaaki, so features may change, and we may pause or stop parts of it. If we make a big change that affects you, we'll try to give you notice. Manaaki is currently free to use. If we ever introduce paid features, we'll tell you before you're charged anything.
8. Ending things
You can stop using Manaaki at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account by emailing hello@manaaki.app. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other people at risk.
9. Disclaimers
Manaaki is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will always be available, error-free, or that information shown by hosts or guests is accurate. We aren't responsible for what happens during a visit, or for the conduct of hosts or guests.
10. Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for lost data, profits, or opportunities. Our total liability for any claim about Manaaki is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the past 12 months or US$50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.
11. If something goes wrong
If you use Manaaki in a way that breaks these terms or the law and someone makes a claim against us because of it, you agree to cover our reasonable costs from that claim. If you have a problem with us, please email hello@manaaki.app first. Most things can be sorted out quickly that way.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the date at the top, and for meaningful changes we'll let you know in the app or by email. If you keep using Manaaki after a change, you accept the new terms.
13. The rest
If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce something straight away, we haven't given up the right to. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about Manaaki.
